Jewellery care

Make your jewellery last by following these few recommendations and enjoy wearing them for many years to come:

  • Avoid contact with water, salt, perfume, chemical products and excessive sweating as this will damage the stones in time:
    • Remove your jewellery when doing physical work such as physical exercise, housekeeping, or DIYing;
    • Remove your jewellery for any water-based activities such as showering or swimming (pools and sea);
    • Remove your jewellery before going to sleep;
    • When applying cosmetics such as perfume, hairspray and lotions wait a few minutes before wearing your jewellery;
    • Skins with an acidic tendency – avoid wearing malachite or any other porous stones since they will become dull within a few months due to the chemical reaction;
  • Keep your jewellery out of direct sunlight and extreme temperature changes as this will damage the stones with time;
  • Protect your jewellery from any potential knocks or falls, even the hardest stones can get scratched, chipped or even broken if dropped or banged;
  • Store your jewellery separately to avoid it getting tangled up or scratched – some stones are more delicate, such as Fluorite and Mother-of-Pearl…
    • Keep your necklaces closed and laid flat to avoid them forming knots.
